SR United commemorates Chris Pierpoint with a toy drive on December 11 at Trione.

On Saturday December 11th between 8am and Noon Santa Rosa United Coaches and its Players will be honoring Chris by collecting unwrapped toys for local Sonoma children for Christmas. If you would like to donate a toy please drop off your donation at Trione Field between 8am and 12.00.  As a thank you for your donation the SRU coaches will also offer free soccer coaching/games at Trione during the Toy Drive and you are invited to have your children join the soccer fun.

Christopher Pierpoint was known as the “White Flash.” (He was blond and fast on the field).  And he was a long-time Santa Rosa United player from the time he first trained as a 6-year old with his older brother, James, with the Heat team coached by Jacob Lehrer.  Coach Lehrer’s calm and supportive approach helped build Christopher’s skills as he transitioned to the Santos team.  Coached by Messias Souza dos Santos for three years, Christopher developed his technical skills and stood out when it came to sheer speed.  Last year, Christopher had the opportunity to play with the older U14 Barcelona team coached by Alan Ramos.  This season, Christopher was playing on the U14 Magic coached by Jesus Molina.  At age 13, Christopher spent over half his life on the soccer field and as a part of the Santa Rosa United club.

Christopher stood out for being creative, smart, energetic, and athletic.  He was well liked by his team mates and coaches and we will miss him very much.

SRU welcomes two new coaches Ralph Montes and Trisha Ziemer to join our coaching team for 2011.

Trisha previously coached with SRU for 10 years achieving multiple State Cup Championship and Far West Regional Champions titles. Trisha’s brings a wealth of soccer experience to SRU and helped steer numerous players towards successful Collegiate soccer.
