Santa Rosa United is pleased to announce Josh Sterling as our College Planning Specialist.
We are excited for Josh to add to our existing program with many new ideas. Josh brings a tremendous amount of experience and expertise to Santa Rosa United. He has helped hundreds of players reach their goal of playing college soccer over the past 12 years.
Josh is a Certified College Planning Specialist (CCPS) with APSG College Planning in Windsor. Josh’s college recruiting expertise and his knowledge of the admissions, funding and financial aid processes is a unique combination that will benefit all SRU families. Josh has this to say about joining SRU, “I am excited to bring my knowledge and expertise as a CCPS, my 12 years helping players through the recruiting process and my college level coaching to Santa Rosa United. SRU has a great history of placing players into college soccer programs across the country. I am honored to be able to continue this legacy. With the cost of college rising every year, increased competition for college admissions and the ever evolving recruiting process, proper planning is more important than ever. SRU will see a new program that will assist the club’s players in finding their “Best Fit” college”. This new program should be released soon, so stay tuned!
Josh’s coaching experience started in 1993 and includes Rohnert Park Express, Santa Rosa High School (NBL/NCS titles), CYSA Olympic Development Coach, US Club Soccer ID2 coach, Sonoma County Alliance’s founder, Director of Coaching, Coach and College Recruiting Coordinator. Josh was the Men’s Head Assistant Coach at Sonoma State University (1999-2006) and was part of the National Championship team in 2002. Josh holds a USSF National 'A' coaching license and has studied at European Clubs: AJAX, Feynoord, PSV, AZ Alkmaar and Harlaam.
Josh will also be coaching and training teams for Santa Rosa United and these details will be announced soon!
